taster workshop at
Bedgebury Park in
Goudhurst, Kent, we are
thrilled to announce that
Bedgebury Park owner, Gabriella Atkinson, has agreed to let us run Equine Affinity workshops at this exquisite centre.
Driving up the glamorous tree lined driveway, one gets a real sense that they are in for something special. Set in 125 acres of stunning parkland, Bedgebury Park Equestrian Centre has plenty to offer including two covered arenas, allowing us to continue working through the upcoming wet winter months and a heated marquee, to offer respite from the cold and a warm cuppa whilst we process what we’ve learnt. Plus, over thirty different and very happy horses to choose from.
Gabriella says ‘I am interested in this work, especially as it focuses on the relationship and understanding you can have with the horse from the ground. It’s a fascinating subject and we are looking forward to seeing Equine Affinity in practice.’
Bedgebury Park has recently had a makeover, as Gabriella took it on in 2009 and has made many improvements. Focused on making the centre ‘the South East’s training centre of excellence’ Bedgebury Park hosts clinics by world-class riders and trainers such as Emile Faurie, Andrew Hoy and Damain Hallam, as well as a busy schedule of shows and competitions.
Equine Affinity will be running workshops at Bedgebury in the near future and will be holding the official Equine Affinity Launch Event here in November. Keep an eye on our website news page for all of our upcoming events.
Equine Affinity
Coaching with
Horses Workshop.
On Sat Oct 8th 2011,
we are running a discounted introductory workshop.
This is a workshop facilitated by Laura, the Equine Affinity
coach and Cat, Equine Affinity equine specialist. We are
offering you a chance to have an introduction into our work.
The horse will often give us useful insight into our authentic
being- information about ourselves that we
may be unaware of. In this workshop you will have some one to one
time with the horses and will also partake in a team exercise.
There will be process time in between exercises. This workshop is a half day
workshop so it will give you an insight into this profound work. We will be running more workshops like
this throughout the Autumn and Winter.
Equine Affinity is pleased to announce that
we have just recruited two new volunteers to
assist us with the continual development
of our business.
We approached Lauren and Lucy as they have
valuable skills to offer to our work. They will be
assisting us with book keeping advice and events planning.
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the service we
provide is both efficient and professional. Without the support of these generous
volunteers, we would probably be walking instead of trotting.
Welcome, and thank you, Lucy and Lauren.
We are now working from a delightful
yard called Little Dunks Farm near
Tunbridge Wells in Kent, so that we can
expand our client base and make our
service more accessible.
We work with a wonderful collection of sweet
natured horses from Little Dunks Yard. This yard
has a very welcoming feel to it.
Yard owner, Marianne and horse owner, Alex, couldn’t believe how their horses react to our work;
“Usually Bertie is really hard to catch. It is facsinating that someone [our client] who has very little horse experience, can march right up to him and catch him straight away!!”
When you drop the expectation that the horse may react in a certain way, and approach it from an authentic place, (in this case the client had no idea that Bertie was hard to catch) then you will have a more positive response. That is the essence of this work.
Come and meet us and some of the wonderful horses we will be working with at Little Dunks Farm.
Equine Affinity offers a form of
psychotherapy for people that uses
interactions with horses to facilitate
personal development.
“Horses reflect our emotions and actions.
As we learn to communicate with these noble
creatures, we also learn about ourselves and how changes to our behaviour affect another”
Equine Affinity is offering 20% discount on this service. This offer is limited to 5 individual clients so book soon!
We offer 6 week course to be held at a local horse stables in East Sussex or Kent.
This offer starts 1st September 2011 and ends 30th September 2011.
